چکیده
Abstract The Parker Solar Probe mission (PSP) has completed seven orbits around the Sun. Wide-field Imager for (WISPR) on PSP consists of two visible light heliospheric imagers, which together image interplanetary medium between 13.°5 and 108° elongation. PSP/WISPR nominal science observing window occurs during solar encounters, take place when spacecraft (S/C) is within 0.25 au from During Orbit 3, an extended campaign took while transited 0.5 (during both inbound outbound orbit segments). operations implemented a variety 180° S/C rolls about S/C-Sun pointing axis window. vantage location, combined with different roll orientations, allowed us to unveil circumsolar dust density enhancement associated Venus’s orbit. Specifically, we observed excess brightness band 1% at its center over background zodiacal in all images obtained campaign. We explain this as due increase orbiting Sun close Venusian projected latitudinal extent ring estimated 0.043 ± 0.004 au, exhibiting average order 10%. Here, report characterize first comprehensive, pristine observations plane-of-sky projection almost full 360° longitudinal extension.

Imaging of a circumsolar dust ring near the orbit of Venus.
The gravitational interaction of dust in the zodiacal cloud with individual planets is expected to give rise to ringlike features: Such a circumsolar ring has been observed associated with Earth, but such resonance rings have not been confirmed to exist for other planets. Here, we report on sensitive photometric observations, based on imaging from the STEREO mission, that confirm the existence ...
متن کاملOrigin of the Near-ecliptic Circumsolar Dust Band
The zodiacal dust bands are bright infrared (IR) strips produced by thermal emission from circumsolar rings of particles. Two of the three principal dust bands, known as b and g, were previously linked to the recent asteroid collisions that produced groups of fragments, so-called asteroid families, near the orbits of (832) Karin and (490) Veritas. The origin of the third, near-ecliptic a band h...
متن کاملMulti-Observations Initial Orbit Determination based on Angle-Only Measurements
A new approach with the ability to use the multiple observations based on the least square approach has been proposed for initial orbit determination. This approach considers the Earth’s Oblateness by using the developed Lagrange coefficients. The efficiency of the proposed method has been tested in two scenarios. The first scenario is to use the simulated and the second one is to utilize the r...
متن کاملSmoke in the “Smoke Rings”: ISO Observations of Dust in Collisional Ring Galaxies
Collisional ring galaxies probably result from a head-on collision between a compact companion galaxy and a gas-rich disk system. We present a review of the discovery of warm dust in five collisional rings observed by ISO which range in total Far-IR luminosity from 10 < LF IR < 10 11 L⊙. The results show that in most cases, the mid-IR (MIR) flux is often a significant fraction of the total ener...
متن کاملOrbit Control at the Sls Storage Ring
Precise orbit control is one of the crucial ingredients for stable operation of the SLS storage ring. The orbits are taken by the digital BPM system which allows beam position measurements to the sub-micron level at sampling rates of up to 4 kHz at 72 locations in the ring. Orbits are corrected with respect to a user defined reference by applying SVD techniques and a direct response matrix inve...
